HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!
WE TURN THREE THIS MONTH!
On 18 November, 2005 Tag Art Music ONLINE! began broadcasting on the Live365 network.We are now three years on and going stronger than ever. I wanted to take this time out to thank everyone for all of their support, good wishes, contributions and just for taking time out to listen.
Our Origin!
Tag Art Music ONLINE! - what a name for a internet dance music station. I am sure you may have asked yourself once at least - "what the????"
Before there was a radio station, there was a guy named Bruce Taggart. He liked to make mix CD's for friends and was very happy doing so - those CD's were called Tag Art Music (obviously a play on my last name). But living on an island, friends tend have a tendency to move on...back to the mainland or to other countries. Bruce decided to start up a small radio station type format so friends not on the island could still enjoy good music whenever they felt a need to tune in. The format initially was just a small collection of music rotating 24 hours. This small station carried on the Tag Art Music name ... but since now via internet, "ONLINE!" was tacked onto the name. Tag Art Music ONLINE! was born.
Somehow people OTHER than his initial base found out about the station...since it was streaming over the LIVE365 network it is advertised there...little did I know the station would start picking up other listeners. Then it continued to grow. And grow. As the station listenership grew so did the design and format of the station. More and more music into rotation, a website, station ID's, dance music artist and club DJ support, DJ shows, a station logo, logo shop, newsletter, Myspace page and listener support from all across the globe.
2008 seen our ratings grow and enter the top 20 rankings in the dance/electronica genre on the network (there are approximately 400 stations in this genre on LIVE365). We even became a LIVE365 Editors Picks Station!
Thanks to everyone for growing up with us! Where will we go next???!!!
